I’m just a little ol’ Texan living in the motherland – England – with my English husband. I moved here several years ago, leaving my family & friends back in Texas. I never realized just how different it would be. I’ve learned a lot and seen so many fantastical places. Places I would’ve never seen had I stayed in Texas.
The Blood of Kaos series is a story that developed from an online gaming community I belonged to many years ago. Sounds kinda corny, I know, but it got me to writing again. At the same time, I discovered the Outlander Series by Diana Gabaldon and fell in love with Jamie and Claire. Their story got me to thinking. Why aren’t there more stories about couples who work together for the common good? Why do most books dwell on a ‘chosen one’ who doesn’t need anyone to save them or to help or to do much of anything except be a delightful sidekick or horrible antagonist?
Every relationship has its pushes and pulls, smooth times and tough times, every couple argues at some point. Yes, even Daniel and I have our moments. But we work through those times and have learned how to communicate better. It has made us stronger as individuals and as a couple. So why not a couple set in a contemporary dark fantasy? And let’s make them both warriors. How would two such strong characters react to one another? Is love possible in their world? If it is, can it last? You’ll have to read the series to find out.
The Crystal Warrior, a Young Adult retelling of Alamir, released on November 10, 2020. My granddaughter, Gema, has always wanted to read my first book, but the original wasn’t appropriate for a younger audience. Three years later and she’s still asking to read it! So I decided to make it suitable for young adults. I’m hoping she’ll love it and Etain’s story will be a hit for a whole new group of fans.
Come meet Etain and Dar – fall in love with their story and enjoy the fireworks.
